FOSSGIS 2026
============

*02. Apr 2026*

The FOSSGIS Conference, the leading German-language conference for Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) for GIS and Open Street Map
, took place in Göttingen, Germany, from March 25–28, 2026.

A highlight of the program was a dedicated 45-minute demo session
showcasing the EnMAP-Box. Attendees were given a practical look into
how hyperspectral EnMAP and multispectral Sentinel-2 data can be visualized together with measurements made by field spectrometers.
The session provided valuable insights into the latest features of the EnMAP-Box
and its integration within the QGIS environment.

UNOOSA / CEOS Training
======================

*02. Apr 2026*

As part of the UNOOSA/UNU-INWEH/CEOS Training on EO for Resilience and Humanitarian Aid (March 23–27, 2026, Vienna),
the EnMAP-Box was presented in a hands-on session. The session EO Data Visualization and Analysis with EnMAP-Box:
Land Cover and Crop Type Mapping Using Sentinel-2, (March 26) introduced participants to
fundamental functionality and workflows for analyzing multispectral and hyperspectral satellite data using the EnMAP-Box.


EnMAP Webinar
=============

*07. Feb 2026*

On 29th and 30th January 2025 two
`EnMAP Webinars <https://www.enmap.org/data/news/EnMAP-Webinar_Preliminary_Agenda_Webinar_en01.pdf>`_
informed the user community about the EnMAP mission, EnMAP Applications and the commercialisation potential of EnMAP.
Examples of scientific applications, online education materials (HyperEDU) and other
EnMAP funded projects were presented. Participants learned how they can task EnMAP-observations and
get data access to archives observations, as well how to visualize and analyse the using the EnMAP-Box
The webinars had a high resonance with >130 international participants online each day.


Release EnMAP-Box 3.17
======================

We are in the process of releasing EnMAP Box 3.17. A first preview is already available for download as `an experimental plugin <https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/enmapboxplugin/version/3.17.0/>`_.

Workshop Multi-Source Remote Sensing for Agriculture
----------------------------------------------------

On 10. September, the EnMAP-Box was presented in a Hand-on tutorial on the
`Multi-Source Remote Sensing for Agriculture: Workshop on Advanced Earth Observation, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in Agricultural Applications <https://www.zalf.de/en/aktuelles/Pages/PB4/Multi-Source-Remote-Sensing.aspx>`_.
The workshop was organized by the ZALF in Müncheberg, Germany.
The participants learned how to use the EnMAP-Box to visualize
hyper- and multispectral raster data together with spectral profiles from field measurements.


Living Planet Symposium 2025
----------------------------

At the `Living Planet Symposium 2025 <https://lps25.esa.int/>`_ in Vienna, Austria (22–27 July),
participants had the opportunity to explore the capabilities of the EnMAP-Box.
They engaged with us through a `tutorial <https://lps25.esa.int/programme/programme-session/?id=66EA2276-ED78-45BB-B984-3EFF03E0C4AE>`_
session and by visiting the latest EnMAP-Box poster:
We enjoyed connecting with many EnMAP-Box users in person.
It was especially exciting to see the high interest for our brand-new EnMAP-Box stickers!

The `2nd EnMAP User Workshop <https://enmap.geographie-muenchen.de>`_ took place from April 2-4, 2025 in in Munich.
Here, the EnMAP-Box was presented, and participants could join an *Introduction to the EnMAP-Box* workshop.

New tutorial: EnMAP-Box in High Performance Computing environments
------------------------------------------------------------------

*January 2024*

We just published our newest application tutorial :ref:`"EnMAP-Box in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments" <run_on_hpc>`

The tutorial shows how you can:

- install the EnMAP-Box on Linux servers
- start and use QGIS/EnMAP-Box on HPC systems
- process data using QGIS processing algorithms and processing models, that you may have been previously created
  with the `QGIS Model Designer <https://docs.qgis.org/latest/en/docs/user_manual/processing/modeler.html>`_
- use the `SLURM workload manager <https://slurm.schedmd.com/overview.html>`_ to schedule, run and monitor processing jobs


Hyperspectral 2024 / WICSIS
---------------------------

The EnMAP-Box was presented at the 3rd Workshop on International Cooperation in Spaceborne Imaging Spectroscopy
(WICSIS, 13.-15. September) at `ESA-ESTEC  <https://www.esa.int/About_Us/ESTEC>`_ in Noordwijk, Netherlands.
The workshop participants got the opportunity to visit a training day on September 12th,
on which they learned how to access EnMAP data and how to use the EnMAP-Box.

EnMAP-Box Version 3.7 released

A new EnMAP-Box version has been released. It includes product readers for EnMAP L1B, L2C and L2A, PRISMA L2D
and DESIS L2A images, and a first version of Spectral Math in the QGIS Expression Builder.
